Our culture is so busy telling women they donβt matter after a certain age. But Iβm here to tell you they are wrong. I didnβt start lifting until I was in my mid forties and the only regret I have is that I didnβt start sooner!
The lies we were told about strength training, the endless hours of cardio, chasing a constant calorie deficit that made us miserable, all contributed to a generation of perimenopausal women who are just supposed to fade out, not contribute, not be seen. Thankfully, that is far from the truth. The truth is that middle age, perimenopause, menopause donβt have to represent an end, but can actually be a beginning. A chance to reinvent yourself, try new things, set crazy goals and see what youβre capable of. Middle age comes with wisdom, experience and confidence that comes from a life thatβs been tried and tested. So step out and act like the boss you are!
