Galleri Cancer Screening
Summary
Galleri is an innovative, modern cancer screening designed to detect over 50 types of cancer with one blood sample. It utilizes DNA sequencing and pattern recognition technology to screen for cancer signals in cell free DNA. Cell free DNA is released into the bloodstream by both healthy cells and cancer cells. Cell free DNA from cancer cells have specific patterns that indicate cancer.
Treatment
A simple blood sample is taken in our Boise, Idaho office and sent to Galleri for analysis. This blood sample can be obtained at any time of day. This test is for patients over the age of 30. Patients with active cancer should not have Galleri testing.
